Hi family, friends, and other bloggers!!
Today is Sunday January 15, 2012 and I am sitting here in my dorm just coming back from the Notre Dame. What? Can someone wake me up from this dream already....it literally feels so weird that I am here! It's been a fabulous couple of days though.
So far the weather has been super nice... not unbareable cold weather just cold..but the sun has been out everyday so far!
We arrived here on Friday and already have done so much! we explored the first day... we got to see the museum where Napolean's tomb is! and also got to see the Eiffel Tower on the very first day!!Really exciting things so soon!
Friday night we tried to get a big group to go out together but the group was way too big so Jordan, Brenna, and I decided to grab our own dinner. We got escargot! Not as scary as it seems...promise! I actually really enjoyed it=) Then we travelled back to our dorm and got ready for orientation the next day....
Saturday we had orientation with everyone. We got breakfast, chatted, and then watched a slide show of events coming up...like Normandy on the 27th! totally already booked our tickets! and then we went on a Boat Tour on the Siene River. They then gave us maps and wished us good luck on our way back to campus! This one kid really knew his way around and I was walking with him when we lost the other big group that my friends were in. So we stayed with our group and found our way back... Jay tried to catch up but got lost for three hours in Paris!! =[ talk about exhaustion and confusion...good thing for the light from the top of the Eiffel it led him home!
Saturday night came along and 16 of us went to a bar a couple of stops from the metro near our school. The bar was called "The Long Hop" and it was totally made for Americans and English speaking people. Plus it played all the music we were used to! This was a lot of fun. We got to dance with some native Parisians! and got to meet some of Brenna's friends from Paris like Ryan!
This morning we went to church at the Notre Dame with Sister Bernadette and got crepes on the way home....ham, cheese, & mushrooms..yum...plus nutella, almond, and banana....yummmmm:) The church is really beautiful...I'll be uploading pictures soon of everything so I could share my adventure with you guys.
xox, kimm!
