Hola Sevilla!: Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

So we got to Barcelona, Spain around 5PM. We first headed to the hostel to meet up with Jason! I was so excited to see him when we got to our hostel he was sleeping but quickly woke up as soon as we opened the door! Him and Martel had come earlier that morning:) We quickly got ourselves acquainted with the hostel than we met up with Martel and headed to the Beach to just walk around. This first afternoon in Barcelona was so beautiful. As we continued along our spring break the weather just kept getting better and better! I got icecream as we walked along the beach and then we walked through the Gothic area of Barcelona and we passed where Brenna had stayed when she visited in Spain two years ago and we also ran into the place me and my Aunt Patti stayed at when we were in Barcelona two years ago too! It was so weird being back but also so awesome. After exploring for a bit and catching up we decided to grab dinner because we all had worked up an apetite. We went to this place where we got a Spanish rice dish called pieaia. along with that we got Sangria and appetizers. The five of us ate and then walked around some more before heading back to the hostel to get some rest for our next day!

Day two in Barcelona was a lot of fun as well. We woke up got breakfast at our hostel then headed out to the beach. However it was kind of shitty out so after hanging out there for a little we made our way to the cafe' Bren and her friends used to go to when they were in spain. we ordered sandwiches there. They were really good and this place was so chill and relaxed. After eating we got on a metro and headed to Gaudi's Cathedral. The Cathedral looked like wax from a candle it was so freaking unique. A person could definitely see where the architecture changed after Gaudi died because it's completely different from the original piece. After seeing this we made our way to Gaul Park which was built as an escape for wealthier people. This park not only had a great view of Barcelona itself but it also had so many beautiful mosaics! I couldn't help but take pictures of as many as I could. I really loved them. After visiting the park Jason, Jordan, Brenna and I went solvenier shopping for a bit then met up with Martel back at the hostel. For dinner we went to this pasta place. Then we all said bye to Martel because he was leaving for another part of Paris that night. That night Jason, Bren, Jo, and I went to a shot's bar called Chupitos. It was so cool they had so many interesting shots. Jay and I took a shot with our thumb on fire! We also took another shot that looked like we were camping b/c we got to roast marshmellows on the bar! and then we took some other fancy shots like the Bob Marley shot which was colored in red yellow and green. Really original shots I thought it was really unique. Jason and I made our way out of the shots bar and as Jo and Bren continued to socialize inside me and Jay took in the night sky and atmosphere. We sat on the curve just chatting and catching up. It was really nice=)

Day three in Barcelona. We started off the morning getting breakfast at our hostel again then we made our way out to the street market! The street market was filled with a ton of fruits and fishes. Jay and I got a cod fish and a cheese sandwich and made our own sandwiches=) and then we got fruit to split too. Eventually we made our way out of the markets and the four of us walked through the streets of Barcelona headin to the beach again. As i stopped to look a portrait on the way to the beach Jay and I accidently got separated from Jordan and Brenna so after looking for them for a while we thought we'd continue to head to the beach. On our way to the beach we stopped along the water and boats and just sat and talked=) We listened to music and people watched for a while then we continued. As we approached the beach I had a craving for calamari so Jay and I stopped at a cute restaurant stopped and ordered only calamari ate it then continued on our walk. hah=) When we finally got to the beach we still couldn't find Bren and Jo so we decided to just lie down in an area on the sand. The beach was beautiful! We had such a good time just reminicsing. Around 5 we made our way back to the hostel and bumped into Bren and Jo there! (Perfect timing) We all decided that it had been a long day so we took a nap then went back out around 8. It was mine and Jay's four month anniversary so me and him went out to this Viennamese restaurant! It didn't take too long to get there (of course I was leading) but when we got there we had to wait a half hour for a table. When we finally got a table we had such a delicious meal. It was such good food. Jay ordered all the right things haha ( I should have gotten what he got) but I had steak and fries and he had some delicious chicken with rice. After dinner we walked back and headed to the hostel.

Day four in Barcelona. We woke up, met up with James too! and the five of us headed to the top of a hill in Barcelona. After not being able to figure out how to get all the way to the top we called it quits and tried enjoying the sunny day. Since the day before Bren and Jo got there shopping in today Jay and I decided to go shopping and they went to the beach. James on the otherhand did his own exploring because he wanted to see the Gaudi Cathedral that we had seen the second day in Barcelona. so Jay and I first got food at this burger place called Milk. Oh my goodness it was the best burger I've had in Europe! It was so delicious. Of course Jay's burger was even better than mine along with his smoothie that he ordered! ( Next time I'm just going to have him order for me haha) And then after full stomach's we went shopping. I got my spain pants that I wanted and also a scarf! I had also been eyeing a painting for days at that point so me and Jay went back three times to argue a price with the guy selling it. eventually I just gave in and bought it! I loved it though. After a full day of shopping and eating we headed back to the hostel to meet up with Jo & Bren. We all took a quick nap before getting food at a sandwich joint. Jay and I got salads they were delicious! and then we got ready to go out. Originally we were thinking of going to a three floor club but instead we wanted to meet up with Tara, Korrie, and Alan who had come to Barcelona that afternoon so we went to Chupitos again then another bar. As we were pregaming in the hostel we met this kid named Kamrad and he was from Germany and his English wasn't that bad either so he came out with us! It was a lot of fun. At Chupitos we lit our thumbs on fire again! and i got a video of it this time! hah. It was a really fun night. Jay left at six AM that morning. We had to leave around 8am.

And we finally made it back to Sevilla around 1pm. It was such a wonderful spring break.
