My days in Seville!

So tomorrow I'm heading off on my spring break with Jordan and Brenna. (Like this whole trip hasn't been break enough) We're so excited! We're going to Prague, Czech Republic, Vienna, Austria, and Barcelona, Spain. We leave tomorrow bright and early so today we're packing up our things and getting everything ready! Before I leave I wanted to post a blog about my time here so far in Sevilla. Unfortunately the weather has been failing us and the beautiful sunshine we got the first couple of days has been delayed by rain. But we have been making the most of our time here! Last week Jordan, Brenna, and I went to the river side to lay out and tan! Other things we've done:

Went on a excursion to have a panoromic view of Sevilla!
James, Jordan, and I went to a diner called Peggy Sue's :) ! So cute. Reminded me of Johnny Rockets. But rockets still takes the cake sorry peggy sues!

One of the nights a bunch of us went clubbing at this three floor club called Buddha. It was a ton of fun =) We even met some people from the States who were studying here as well!

This past weekend we wanted to try Spanish "chinese food" so we got a really cheap meal for a ton of food! We were stuffed by the end of eating!

There is a really unique tradition here in Seville around Easter. Leading up to Easter the whole city indulges in their culture. When you look at my pictures below you will see what i mean::

The core events in Semana Santa are the processions of the brotherhoods, known as estación de penitencia (stations of penance), from their home church or chapel to the Cathedral of Seville and back.

They often dress up in a certain way to represent their brotherhood. When we were first told about it, it was very intriguing! When first seeing them on the streets its very interesting. Brenna Jordan and I saw a whole flock of them cramming into one church. Kind of looked like Harry Potter and his fellow classmates getting ready for orientation at their school. Just to make this clear they are not KKK people and this tradition has been going on longer. Talking about dressing up; A lot of families were out and about and all dressed up too in very formal outfits. you could totally tell we weren't from there. It's nice to see how close the families are here!

The rest of holy week brings a lot of neat traditions and celebrations. On Holy Thursday they have a candle lighting ceremony in the city. We will not be here for that because we will be in Prague but it sounds really cool.

I'll be temporarily taking a break from blogging because I will be on spring break till the 15th of april! So I will have a ton of catching up to do when I come back to Sevilla!

As for now. check out my pictures below and I'll update soon!
